ON OUR UPCOMING MAY SHOW:

Writers spots are filling up fast for the second half of 2014. The calendar is a buzz with the possibilities, my inbox is busting with words and bios, photos and upcoming thrills. LET’S BEGIN WITH MAY 18 This month’s show is themed “PAINT IT BLACK” after my very favorite Rolling Stones song…and as it turns out, the title of one of our May featured poet’s books.

Mic The writers on this show write from in and around California, celebrated in the ever-widening circles of spoken word and performance. RICH FERGUSON (WITH MUSO GUEST), is beloved in the LA area and a spoken performance guru to boot.  JANET FITCH actually has a book of poetry titled Paint it Black, which was actually a surprise!  JAWANZA DUMISANI comes to us from LA’s ever-growing World Stage words and community project, where he can be seen regularly. JOHN HESS is a busy guy who has so much going on with his words that his personal assistant Carl had to work out the details for us to get it done. Hess’ rep confirmed just this morning that he will be back from a tour on the 15th, so he will be there!

Please stay tuned for the highlights, photos, and the posted answers of our BIG QUESTION in the afterblog on May 19. For extra fun, LIKE US ON FACEBOOK   // FOLLOW US ON TWITTER @writersroundla
